TPi Breakthrough Talent
Awards 2019 Winners

Winner: Harry Boyde

“Attending the TPi Production Futures event this year was a pleasure, and it was an honour to win the Production Rookie award. It was great to speak with people who are looking to get into the industry and explain what we at ER Productions do.
“Winning the award means a great deal to me; it has made me look back on what I have achieved within the past year, with the continued support and encouragement from everyone at ER Productions. Next year is looking very exciting, with the move to a new huge warehouse and going back on the road with Fatboy Slim in Australia in January.”

Winner: Owen McIlreavy

“From attending Production Futures for the past two years, I have found it to be a very worthwhile networking experience. Unlike other events, Production Futures is aimed towards getting people into the industry and making professional connections, which I have found to be very useful.
“Winning the Undergraduate of the Year Award came as a huge shock, and a great honour. It took me a minute during the awards introduction to recognise the work being read out as my own! It is great to get recognised for the hard work that I have put in, and I am hugely grateful to my lecturers and colleagues for the nomination and continued support.
“Having such awards motivates new industry professionals to work hard and shows that hard work does pay off. Moving forward, I will be quite busy with my final year at university. However, I fully intend to stay involved with the events industry, and I can’t wait to get out there full time.”

Winner: Oli Crump

“Production Futures is a really good event. It’s a great opportunity for networking and learning that is specifically geared towards students and young freelancers.
“It’s an amazing honour to receive this year’s Young Freelancer Award. The Breakthrough Talent awards are an excellent platform to recognise the achievements of the newest members of our industry. Congratulations to all the other winners.”

Winner: Dylan Barber

“Production Futures is a great event for young people. The event was very well organised and had loads of great production-based content. I’m really glad I attended. I especially enjoyed getting my hands on desks like a Midas Pro 2 and an Allen & Heath dLive, as well as the ChamSys training. I’ll definitely be attending next time.
“I never imagined that I would win, and am still shocked to have done so. It feels great to have won an award for doing what I love –it’s definitely a significant point in the early stages of my career. I am now working on expanding my industry contacts to allow me to branch into national work. I have also recently set up a mixing and mastering home studio to allow me to do more work in that area too. I am also studying a FdSc Degree in Audio and Music Technology, so it’s all very exciting at the moment.”
